Professional Information:
Prior to working at Partners in Change, Marissa worked at Midland Community Mental Health as an Infant Mental Health Specialist and Baby Court Therapist where she provided intensive home-based services to families with infants and toddlers. Marissa received endorsement from the State of Michigan as an Infant Family Specialist after meeting extensive training, experience and supervision requirements. Marissa additionally co-facilitated the Nurturing Parenting Group which focused on building effective parenting skills and nurturing skills in parents. Marissa was also part of the adult and adolescent DBT team where she provided individual DBT treatment to adolescents and their families and was a co-facilitator for the adult and adolescent DBT groups. Marissa is passionate about working alongside others in order to help them reach their maximum potential by utilizing a strengths based approach to treatment. Marissa's clinical experience includes a strong interest and focus on adolescents who have experienced complex trauma, depression, anxiety, OCD and disordered eating. Marissa additionally has vast experience in working with women who are experiencing postpartum difficulties including postpartum depression, anxiety, traumatic birth and bonding/attachment difficulties.
Personal Information:
Outside of work, Marissa enjoys spending time with her family, her two dogs and friends. Marissa enjoys actively exploring new places with her young daughter, spending time outside in the sunshine and anything that involves animals.
