Professional Information:

Deb is a licensed master’s level social worker (clinical) and one of three managing partners. Deb regularly provides consultations to agencies locally and throughout the country as it relates to family engagement in mental health services and is a national trainer for Brief Strategic Family Therapy ©. She is the author of a dissertation study on core skills for training clinicians who work with families to support their delivery of evidence-based care, particularly for families that have multiple systems involved in their care. Deb holds faculty appointments with the Michigan State University College of Medicine and the Family Therapy Training Institute of Miami and is a consultant for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services for services for families. She has conducted research and written publications in the area of family engagement, evidence-based treatment for families, telehealth treatment, mentoring, and is the co-author of Deliberate Practice in Systemic Family Therapy. She regularly supervises and trains clinicians, supervisors, family therapy trainers, and family practice residents. She is actively involved in community projects to increase the efficacy and availability of mental health services, which includes writing grants and program evaluations that ultimately support a family’s ability to access mental health care.


Personal Information:

Besides spending time with family and friends, Deb enjoys hiking, running, and the beaches of northern Michigan in all seasons.
